Dear Lady, thanks for the suggestion, but we are already just a B & B. and not a hotel. We sent you very precise directions on how to reach us, that you did not bring with you. We came to pick you up at the Giardini-Biennale waterbus stop, which was unusual. We told you to tell us when you took the vaporetto from the station, so we would have waited for you at the Giardini-Biennale stop. But you warned us when you were already at the Giardini-Biennale stop. You sent us a message at 1am saying that you were lost, we got out of bed and came to put you on the right street. You broke our bed (normal, not improvised) and we did not ask you for a refund. You warned us about it at 7 pm. If you had warned us in the morning we would have also changed the bed. We asked you to pay on arrival only because the day after we had to leave. You knew and agreed. Breakfast is, as always, a continental breakfast: bread, brioches, juice, jam, coffee, milk, butter. We have improved your accommodation, settling you, instead of in a room, in an independent apartment all for you with two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, wifi and air conditioning. This without surcharge and paying us the commission for double booking. We are not beginners. We have been doing this job for 20 years and the reviews that concern us are excellent, as you can check for yourself. It seems to us instead that you are a beginner tourist. Our stress depends on your behavior. All in all we had a terrible experience with you. Marina & Roberto

Dear Jean, you requested accommodation for 3 people and we thought the best accommodation was the independent apartment with two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, air conditioning and wifi. The attic is only one room a bit narrow for 3 people. We regret that you were disappointed not to have had the attic, but we thought that the independent apartment was the best accommodation, as we have also written to you and as you agreed. We do not know where you found the information that the the apartment is 300 years old. As you rightly saw, it was built in 1936. Breakfast is a typical Italian breakfast. We asked you if you needed anything else, but you answered us negatively. If you asked us, we could not open the sofa, leave it as a sofa and settle you 3 in one room. The apartment on the third floor may require an extra flight of stairs to climb, but it has a lovely terrace and a great view over the canal and the roofs of Venice. Marina

Dear Kelly-Anne, we are sorry that you did not like the apartment. From your answer to our question if all was well, we understood that you were enthusiastic about the apartment, so much that you wrote that you were having coffee on the terrace and that everything was fine. The apartments in Venice are all old because it is not possible to build new apartments. But this is part of the charm of Venice. Furthermore, the apartments equipped with a lift are very rare. If you had told us that 3 flights of stairs were a problem, we would have placed you in our first floor apartment. We thought to make you happy with the terrace and the view over the roofs of Venice. But of course terrace and rooftop views are only in the top floor apartments! We regret above all that you would not recommend our apartment, because, as you can read from the reviews that concern us, practically all our guests are enthusiastic. However, if you want to come back to us, we would be happy and of course you will settle on the first floor. As you have noted, we always ask our guests if everything is OK. Dear Sir, your review left us dumbfounded. The reviews of our guests are all positive, therefore we really didn't expect yours. It especially grieves us to read that you were faced with "fraud". This, besides not being true, is also very offensive. We told you you would be given an independent apartment all for yourself, comfortable and without steep staircase, located in a typical Venetian street with also a nice view of the canal on its left. Perhaps you don't know Venice...its streets are often very narrow and ours, by Venetian standards, is definitely wide. The smell of Venice is quite typical. Especially when warm and humid Sirocco blows unpleasant sewer odours might waft through the city; such odours have nothing to do with the cleanliness of an apartment. By the way there is copious literature on the typical smell of Venice. As for the bed we are sorry. Probably Cristina, our cleaning woman, did something wrong or maybe she forgot to add a sheet. Our linen is always accurately washed and sterilized before being used. Unfortunately we couldn't check Cristina's work because, as you knew, we weren't in Venice. We told you on many occasions that your credit cards details are requested by the site, and not by us, to guarantee your reservation. What we really don't understand is why you didn't call us. We had told you you could call us any time for any matter. Two days would have been enough to give us a ring or send us an e-mail and we would have immediately answered. Or you could have spoken to Cristina. You also bumped on her on the street, as she told us later. It would have been easier to tell her there was something wrong with your bed. You chose to live with your "pain" instead, and declare afterwards that you had a "terrible experience". A warning for other hosts: please be careful taking a reservation from this guest!
