historic hotel top of the tops
One of the very best hotels in Germany - truly historic location, five-star service, excellent dining. The great reception team made us feel at home from the start and treated us to an upgrade from the junior suite we'd booked to the Gropius Suite, a beautifully designed spacious suite in homage to the German-American founder of the Bauhaus school of architecture. We marveled at the attention to detail in the decor on the walls, the floor, the furniture. We treated ourselves to a gourmet dinner in the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed teatime the next day in the glorious Lichtsaal lobby with enough art on the walls to satisfy any culture vulture. We're looking forward to our next stay, Weimar has so much to see and this hotel is the place to be.

The property was exceptional however our room was so tiny that it was difficult for two people to utilize or enjoy. Great bed but very little space around it. Also, it was cold and turning the heat up required a masters degree in engineering. Breakfast was excellent and ground parking was available.

Fantastic hotel, right in the centre of Weimar
Beautiful hotel, very tastefully decorated. The rooms were really luxurious and cosy. The location just couldn't be better, right in the middle of Weimar, close to all the tourist highlights. Free parking behind the hotel was an added bonus. Would highly recommend.

This is an excellent well located hotel. We made the reservation via Hotels. com on May 9, 2019. The description said it is an air conditioned hotel. We checked in on June 17 to find an un-airconditoned hotel. Word was that it would be air conditioned by next week. The Hotels website on 6/17 and also today 7/2 says it is an air conditioned hotel. I would warn both Hotels.com and any potential guest to check and see if it is now air conditioned. I would also like to add that the hotel was understanding of the problem and offered us items of $$ value to partially address the situation. We appreciated that but post this as potential added info for those interested the reserving the property.

Peace and quiet in Weimar
Perfect central location for visiting the sights of Weimar. Pleasant ambience throughout the hotel, created by the art collection and especially the tranquility of the library.

For a hotel of this level, it should have had a table and sitting area in the room, which it did not. Restaurant food prices were very high, especially for breakfast,and the menu was very limited.

A real gem with a big history.
We weren't specifically looking for a hotel in Weimar, but very happy we found this one on Hotels.com. The hotel was real gem and an interesting little town, both with a big history, and seemingly off the beaten track for American tourists

Hotel in the Heart of the Town Square
Staff very good, helpful and friendly. Hotel lobby and bar lovely art deco style, well presented. Room clean and functional. Close to bars, restaurants, museums, etc.

Nice hotel with old fashioned touches
Our only complaint is that there are no air condtioned rooms. It was pretty warm in our third floor room when we arrived. It cooled down outside at night and the hotel provided fan was much appreciated. The room was clean and large, the staff gracious and the restaurant Anna Amelia very good. There's a large hotel owned parking lot next to the hotel with access from a side strret and easy pedestrian access to the lobby

Classic and classy hotel, but not really pretentious. Felt very relaxed and happy there. I got what I thought was a good price on the room and feel it was well worth it. Also really enjoyed the breakfast in the beautiful dining room.

Fantastic location right in the heart of historic Weimar. The attached bar served great drinks with a very friendly staff who spoke perfect English. The only slight miss was the lack of climate control in the room.

Beautiful hotel right on the main square.
Spacious room with all the amenities. Lot's of great restaurants nearby. Just a couple of blocks from Goethe and Schiller's homes and a few more blocks to Liszt's apartment. Wonderful dinner at the partner restauran,t the Swan right next to Goethe's house.

The city of weimar is a unique Old ensemble and has a cultural Worldclass standard.goethe, schiller, wieland,bach, herder, Liszt lived in weimar.the anna-amalia-library in rokokko-style Is one of the most wonderful libraries in the world.

This was an excellent hotel, perfect location on the market square, and very comfortable rooms. The main gripe was that for a hotel of this style and quality, it's really poor form to be charging extra for in-room internet connections; I'd rather not have to sit in the lobby to send and receive emails after a day of meetings. Other than that, it's a great hotel

Hotel Elephant in Weimar
It was not the first time we stayed at the Hotel Elephant and it shall not be the last. We shall stay only there when we return. Comfortable clean rooms, modern bathrooms(most important!) and a perfect location.

1 of the nicest hotels we have stayed in recently
The Elephant Keller was closed & only opens 5 nights per week. We ate next door in the evening & had breakfast at a nearby cafe/bakers shop. Both were very good.

Lives up to its fine reputation.
A wonderful hotel in the middle of Weimar. We drove to Weimar and location with parking easy to find with GPS. Friendly and helpful staff. Cosy and comfortable rooms. Only downside is that meal rates, especially breakfast, are outrageous. However, many alternatives around. Only serious complaint is charge for Internet - only hotel that we stayed in where charged. So as Germany makes it into new century, this aspect is being improved, but not uniformly.

We spent two weeks travelling in Germany from Konstanz to Hamburg and places in between. Hotel Elephant was one of our favorite hotels. Great location, professional staff, and clean, comfortable accommodations. We recommend eating at the Elephant Keller for a super special culinary experience.

Historical Hotel in Weimar
This is a fabulous hotel with historical roots. It in in superb coditions. One guide book lists it as one of the best hotels in Germany.

You have to be careful if you book via Expedia
Thw Dutch have a saying, "It's better to stay in the worst room of the best hotel in town than the best room of the worst hotel" No doubt about the Chefs abilities but he tries too hard and the food is spoilt by being over fussy.

If you like Art Deco you will love this hotel. Great history, wonderful service. I felt pampered. Ate in the hotel restaurant in the cellar and very much enjoyed it. Breakfast buffet was enjoyable sat outdoors on the patio. Eggs benedict were excellent. At checkout I had unknowingly left a few pieces of clothing in the closet and they were handed to me as I was settling the bill.Town is beautiful, great square, beautiful park.

Good location, no Internet, old business center
Not the best place if you are traveling for business. Their Internet is so slow that it's useless, and the business enter is pretty much useless as well. Staff was VERY helpful though.
