I've stayed here several times, and always find the hotel very adeqoate. The hotel is at the lower end of the price scale, but always clean and the staff friendly, etc. I'll use them again.

Sally was wonderful,very friendly warm and welcoming. The building was too old and needs a lot of work.How can foor prints on a ceiling at least 40 foot high be explained. Very disappointed. My dogs kennel is better

Too expensive for what it is ! Very old building and need very big renovations. Spider's web a bit averywhere and bathroom not really clean... However the staff is very good. A young Columbian guys welcome is and he is really nice and try to arrange things as best as possible.

Worst stay ever
Very disappointed of this hotel. The room is dirty and the walls are cracked and there's a bad smell. There's no reception, I asked for housekeeping but no one showed up. The window won't close.

Too cheap and worn out
We travel budget so we are used to hotels which have faults, but this one is the worst ever. When you step into the lobby you get the first warning by a smell of mould. We didn't get the balcony room we ordered, and the room no 2 that we got turned out to have a very bad smell of mould and sevage, unhealthy was our thouhts. The room had no windows to allow for fresh air. If we had had the option to cancel the reservation we would have left immediately. Next day we asked for the booked room with a balcony and got moved to room 10. This room did only smell in the bathroom, but to avoid the stench in the room we had to have open windows all the time. The backside of this was that the street was noisy from 04:00 and +15 moscito bites. Don't choose this room, you can go too cheap!!

I was disgusted with the whole experience. Very old and badly maintained. It was one of the hottest night in Sydney and there is no airconditioner or ceiling fan. A old fashioned fan was put on but it didn't creat any coolness. We paid for two nights but luckly got an earlier flight out of Sydney and so only spent one night there. When I saw the hotel which also had no lift and I had a sore knee and had to climb up two floors with out luggage when we left. The carpet on the stairs was torn which could have been very dangerous especially with my sore knee. There was a hole which had been punched into the bathroom door and the blinds at the window were all broken. I don't know when your photo was taken but the paint is all peeling off and it looks terrible. I was totally disappointed with this and wont be using Wotif again.

Hotel accepted my booking and then locked me out. Met another guest who had the same problem. No refund from hotel. No call. No service. The area is very unsafe at night, I was accosted by a drunk while I tried to sort out the accommodation. Travellers beware.

room is very run down shabby floor decayed wall no air condition no flyscreen. when oven turned on produces smokes causing false fire alarm, then was billed $880.00 when there was not any thing burning. provides very bad customer service and normal australien arrogance

The cost of you setting the fire alarm is $1760 inc GST, you can verify this with any hotel in Australia or with the fire brigade. We were very generous to not pass on the entire charge to you. Nor were you interested that you inconvenienced the entire hotel when guests were forced to evacuate early in the morning.

pros and cons
This hotel has its pros and cons. The pros are that it is in a really good location, the bed was comfortable, it has a microwave, fridge, tv and kettle in the room which you don’t get with most hotels. The check out times aren’t very strict which is good to leave luggage etc if you have a late flight. Cons, the room could do with a bit of a touch up, but for a single person 4 night stay, it done me fine. There’s not really a front desk and to get in you have to ring a bell or ring the phone, until you get a key. There only seems to be one staff member, although she was great and really helpful. I’d definitly stay here again for a short journey and by myself.

budget hotel not bad
Have stayed here before, and am quite happy with the place. It is not "flash," but it is adequate and comfortable. The only problem I had was that I was in a street front room, and it was quite noisy outside. I will ask for a different room next time.

Room dirty in general, cracked toilet seat, broken blinds , no heater, no ventilation in shower, being in the room was the worst part of our holiday, dirty microwave and a mission to find the manager worst of all walls and ceiling not sound proof 3 out of our 4 days stay we couldn’t sleep as there was so much noise in the middle of the night

You get what you pay for
Central location, and a room big enough for a family - for a relatively cheap price. However, the rooms are dingy, dirty and dilapidated. Bed frames loose and squeak through the night. Bathroom tiny and mouldy. Think Jason Bourne on the run.... Friendly and supportive staff. Parking a nightmare, but there are some family friendly places to eat up the street. If you treat it as an adventure and enjoy the value it is OK.

Rundown and mouldy.
The room was rundown and unclean, mould all over the bathrooms walls and blinds were filthy and broken in the room, holes in the bathroom door, bed was comfortable atleast. no flyscreen on window and no aircon so made for a very stuffy night as couldn't have window open due to mozzies.......cockroaches in bathroom was not a pleasant stay.

Hotel is old/worn out and dusty doesn’t seem to be thoroughly cleaned. But it is low cost hotel plus it was centric for me to walk to get to CBD and other areas. Which is why I actually would stay there again. One thing I didn’t like door was left open 2-3 times but nothing was ever stolen even though I left money on nightstand; which speaks in itself.

Like a glorified hostel or private hotel.. cheap!
The staff were friendly enough but it was difficult checking in during the limited hours, between 3 - 8pm. We arrived too early when there was no-one on deck, so could not check in Saturday: we had plans to watch the AFL grand final and dinner out with friends in the CBD. A staff member called a few times asking when we were coming... we were delayed past 8 and at 9pm I was worried we would not be able to get in at all. The man waited until we could get there so I felt bad for him, but was glad he waited. All this distressed me. Now we had our room and keys to get in and out but our luggage was still in the car, a 15 minute walk away. Earlier we declined the offer via phone to have the house keeper let us leave our bags. Sunday: A wedding- had to drive to the chapel and walk to reception. I was glad we had our room keys! Tricky for us was the lack of parking... only one hour on the street. We stayed at the recommended multi-storey carpark. The hotel offer included a discounted rate. However, as no-one was on deck on Sunday morning we had to pay the full amount to get our car out. Then on Monday morning someone was there when we left so we got the discount card. However it did not work with the machine and it took extra time to fill in paperwork with ID etc to pay for the parking.

A very run down hotel
The rooms are large, paint peeling off the walls. A lot of old grubby furniture, the bathroom was covered in mould and smelt of bleach.

Black mold on the bathroom ceiling. Not only does this present terribly for the hotel, but it's also dangerous to health.
