Hotel clerk on the phone and when checking in was excellent!!! They were having computer problems, but she didn't miss a beat and checked me in without Expedia confirmation. Only criticism is regarding shuttle service . I was told there would be one available the next morning; however, it wasn't scheduled to be available until the afternoon. I wasn't the only customer that needed the service.
We arrived after new management had taken over and Vickie was absolutely great as well as the rest of the staff. She provided the best smoked salmon for breakfast.They picked us up at the ferry terminal. The hotel is like a travel lodge but clean. However, you need a car to stay there as it's too far from town.

It's a nice hotel on the waterfront in downtown Sitka. Everything was excellent. It's pricey compared to similar hotels in the lower 48, but everything is pricey in Alaska. I've stayed at the Super 8 in Sitka, which was not a good experience. For the extra $60 a night I would always stay at the Shee Atika.
