Stayed in a room at the rop of a tower originally used as a watch tower. Authentic and very coil. Views that were amazing from our windows and courtyard.

Quaint Castle
Room was quaint and comfortable. It was nice staying at a 900 year old castle. No AC so we left the windows open. It is somewhat remote and could hear dogs barking and birds much of the night.

11th Century Castle!
This was a bucket list for me to stay in a Castle. Elaina the owners of the apartment was so nice and engaging. Her father (who I forgot his name) showed us to the castle and it was very roomy for my family of 4 adults. We were not use too the quietness of the place and it freaked us out a bit. Their is no lift so expect to drag your luggage up a steep hill. One of the couches needed replacement. The room where the queen size bed was in had a cellar. We keep the chairs in front of that door and keep the carpet up against it for any draft. Which their was none. Water pressure was good with good hot water. They provided some toiletries for use. Bed was clean and comfortable. Towels were clean. No WiFi , but TV worked fine. Small kitchen with small refrigerator, stove and microwave. Everything seemed to be wiped down and vacuumed clean. Some of the rooms in the castle are rented out apartments which people live in. So your not completely alone in this huge castle. You wake up to a beautiful view of Tuscany. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would.

disappointed
Unfortunately we never received the emails that were allegedly sent to us that would have explained to us that the check in location is not at the castle. The climb is pretty rigorous to the actual room and there is no wifi at the castle location. Staff was incredulous with us for not having the check in time or location information contained in the emails that we never received.

Country side but only 2km from Siena. Hotel is family run and owners are very friendly and personable. Great cycling from here.

Great Castle in Tuscany
We spent a couple nights in the castle, it was the perfect way to spend our time in Tuscany, close to a lot of wine tasting and Siena. The restaurants in the local village were great too.

QUITE AN EXPERIENCE
The place is not such a big castle as I was expecting, you will be staying at a portion of a little big old house, castle style, however the views are amazing, the place is really comfortable, you can even use a little kitchen to prepare your food, and you will be needing it, there is no breakfast or any food whatsoever, so make sure you will be prepared for that. Bed is really comfortable, place is a little chilly at night but they put extra blankets inside the vanity! we had a great experience overall, place is well located, it took us a day to do like a 5 town trip that we really enjoyed and Siena is really close and that is a town you don't want to miss!!

Difficult review to write
This is a difficult review to write because the owners are very nice and one has to remember that this is a building that was built 1000 years ago. The location is exactly what we were looking for. It's in a quiet area with beautiful views of the surrounding area. This is a hotel that you would definitely need to rent a car (which we did) to stay at. We stayed in an apartment style room that had two floors. Getting our bags up to the room was very difficult because of the outdoor stairs and the gravel slope. The room itself was adequate but it felt unclean and had an odor to it. The fold out couch that was in the living area was extremely dirty looking. With some cleaning and updating of some artwork on the walls and furniture this could be a very nice place to stay for a few days. There is a nice little sitting area outside of the door to the room that we enjoyed.

If you want to experience a castle, stay here
The owners of this part of the castle seem nice enough. It was hard to find even though we had a GPS . At night it's pitch black so not a good idea to arrive there late. If you can't climb plenty of stone steps with luggage in hand, don't stay here.

Dormire nella Storia
E' un luogo magico, non un hotel a 5 stelle. Esperienza piacevole!
