“Room Review”
The room was good. We wanted the room for a place to sleep an shower. We were not there for most of the time. If you are looking for comfort and room, this place is not for you. It met our goals very well.
“A little tattered, but cozy and clean”
Standard hotel at a very good price, room was small but cozy and comfortable, neighbourhood not far from Tour Montparnasse, 3 minute walk from metro stations. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.
“Authentic French Neighborhood”
Villa du Maine is a typical small Parisien hotel. The room is tiny but the shower was great, the bed was firm, the service was very friendly and the continental breakfast was included. If you're looking for a hotel room to lounge around in, this isn't it. The two metro stations are a bit of a walk, but that's Paris. The neighborhood merchants were friendly and you could find almost any kind of store in the area. My daughter and I felt more like Parisians than visitors--something we like in a vacation. For the price, it's great!
“Slightly shabby but cheap and clean”
The reception staff / management are all extremely helpful in advising where to go in the local area. We also asked to leave our cases for most of the day, since our flight wasnt until 830pm, which was no problem, effectively giving us an extra day to sight see. Our room was extremely small, with little space to manouevre around the bed, and yes, the wallpaper is very 70's and shabby, but for the price, we certainly had no complaints. Shower was fine, bed a little firm, but overall we were very happy. It is a bit daunting to find at first, especially at night with suitcases, but its pretty equi-distant between Alesia and Plaisance metro stations.
“Bargain with a walk”
Villa du Maine is a relatively cheap hotel that's clean, friendly, and pretty much what you expect for the money. Pros: - Cheap - Clean - Comfy bed - English-speaking staff - Friendly - Grocery store nearby Cons: - Small rooms. - Lots of steps. - Very out-of-the-way. Nearest Metro is 5-10 minute walk. Honestly, if you're looking to stay in Paris for cheap this is a very viable option. There's a grocery store at the end of the street, a few restaurants and boulangeries around, so you should be fine for food -- note that all of these do close very early (9pm or earlier). Just be forewarned that it's a bit of a walk to get to the Metro, and a bit of a walk coming back from the Metro. The neighborhood seems pretty peaceful, though, so I wouldn't worry about walking around even at night. Finally, VdM offers free but slightly finicky WiFi. At the very least it's sufficient to stay in touch with friends or family using email or IM.
“geat place for well situated”
extremely clean rooms, service was great, rooms rather small but your not in paris for the hotel.
“Not bad for the money”
Hotel is 2* and that's fair - its on a little side street off Rue Didot so is quiet. It was clean enough but the only problem is its not been decorated since the 70s so it looks a bit depressing and scruffy & the bamboo wallpaper is peeling off. The shower was good. The staff were very friendly & helpful on where to go and how to get there.
“OK budget hotel”
Good value given it's Paris. Not too far out from the centre & near to facilities. Basic but not unclean.
“Very decent place”
Very conveniently located, friendly staff, quiet rooms. A very good find!
“Nice hotel”
I enjoyed my stay at Villa du Maine. The staff were friendly and helpful. The services and room were good, if small, but I expected that. Not so good for a big perion who might have difficulty in the tiny bathroom.
