“Very small, but very clean”

When my husband and I first arrived at this hotel, we were very disappointed, but we were also very tired from the long drive from Germany to Paris. Although I had read many reviews about the cramped hotels in Paris, I was still surprised. The room was very clean, but the bed was as hard as the ground and I had difficulty moving around in the tiny shower (I'm only 4'10"!) which had very cold water. As our trip progressed, though, we learned that our hotel was bigger than most, and after the long days of walking, we did not mind the bed...I slept sooo good. We also learned that there is a switch behind the front door that turns on the hot water...go figure! We were very thankful for the mini-fridge, stove, sink and microwave oven because we brought a packed ice chest on our trip to save on expensive meals in Paris. Also, the metro is directly outside the front door of the hotel...very convenient! Other benefits: there is private parking in a locked garage at only $8.00 a day and there is an amazing bakery just on the corner.

“Not impressed”

The lobby smelled of dirty rubbish bins. The second day I had a serious leak of the toilet and was changed to another room where the TV did not work. It was very hot and there was not even a fan in the room. Last but not least I was not advised when I checked in that reception would be closed the day I was to check out and therefore what I should do with the key. I know it was not expensive for being an apartment in Paris itself but it was not worth one cent more than the asking price and perhaps a little less.
