"This is a really good hotel. The location is great for the theatres and cinema in Nottingham. It's in front of Rock City and a 20 min walk from the station. There are good restaurants nearby but the hotel also has 2 restaurants, room service and bar meals. It's worth upgrading to use the Club Lounge too. Comfy beds, quiet rooms and a bath! Theres a pool and soa too. No complaints!"

"It was a lovely room and the staff were great. My only criticism I have is I paid for a room with view of the park-i didn't feel this was fulfilled. I could see one enclosure but otherwise it was of the outdoor seating area, the park entrance and all the work that was been done. I would have also thought that when checking in I would be asked if I wanted to visit the park as there was no option when booking to add a park visit. The food was great, the staff were super friendly."

"Lovely, quiet, hotel in a residential area very close to the River Trent. Ample free parking, although the staff will need a note of your vehicle registration. Our superior king size room was fresh, modern and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. There is an in room kettle, tea, coffee etc as well as a coffee machine with pods Although we were only there for one night there was plenty of space in the wardrobe and there were also lots of hangers - which makes a refreshing change....

"Beautiful room, great amenities such as restaurant and bar ( also serves food in the bar area) , pool and hot tub. Including free parking and free full breakfast which was very good. The grounds are well kept with lots of places to relax and enjoy the views. You can also eat and have drinks outside if you want to. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels."

"Stay here often to visit family. Lovely to have recently clean carpets and refurbished rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff."

"The hotel was old and in need of a good clean and paint. Our room was everything but clean, old carpet and worse still stained mattress. Never again."

"Loved our stay at St James will definitely be back! Situated in a lovely area, room was clean and comfortable all you need. Unfortunately we visited when the restaurant was out of action for refurbishment but plenty of local places to eat which were great."

"I was in a bedroom at the front, single glazed sliding sash window that would not close. Night 1 I was awoken with shouts of “I want to die!” at 5-30 am. Upon looking out of the window I noticed 5 police cars outside, and they escorted a handcuffed man to a car and drove him away. Wide awake I decided to go to work and leave at 6-00am. Heading downstairs to the reception door I was prevented from entering by 4 Police officers who said that they have a “Major Incident” and I could not leave for...

"My only problem is the check in process, staff wasn’t professional, wasn’t friendly at the beginning but force a smile later on, not looking at guest when speaking to them , no greeting from staff to guests, no explaining the arrangements for breakfast. Been to many different hotel around the world, this is the worse."
