"Great, well-priced London hotel in Sth. Kensington"
The Regency Hotel in South Kensington is a recently renovated hotel in clearly one of the more fabulous parts of London. Very close to the Underground (Tube) and buses. The immediate area has an abundance of bars and restaurants, is close to the V&A and Natural History Museums and a short walk to Kings Road, Chelsea.

"Nice apartment"
We were pleased that we had an upgrade to a one bed apartment on arrival. The apartment was nice and clean and had bedding/towels etc. The place was also clean and tidy. Very hot though and we couldn't leave the window open during the night as we were in the basement!

"Excellent hotel - perfect location for shops"
Loved the amenities and service . Our first night was spoilt by next door guest talking loudly on the phone at 2am to 3am . When I complained security dealt with situation admirably .

"Great location; fab rooms and lovely staff"
Booked a family room for one night at the Weekend. Was upgraded upon arrival to an Executive room which was a nice bonus. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful and made our kids feel welcome. Room was clean; modern and looked fresh. Location is fab - close to the South Bank so you can walk up to Westminster - and also close to the area around the Golden Hind which has some good bars; coffee shops and restaurants.

"One of my Favorites"
I have stayed at the Sloane Square Hotel many times. This last time was only for one night but I have stayed as long as a week before. This hotel has a great location right on Sloane Square. Many rooms look out over the square which is lovely. It is a busy area. There is a lot of "top drawer" shops such as Tiffany's, Boss and others. I have found Peter Jones a nice department store at one end of the square. There is a bank, a tube station and several restaurants (all of which I have tried and would recommend)--The Botanist, Colbert, Manicomio. Kings Road runs off the square and is loaded with other shops. This time I stayed in a Club Room which was spacious and very comfortable. There are times when I want to stay in a very English traditional hotel. That is not the Sloane Square. It is more contemporary in a very nice way.

"Terrific Location"
For Oxford / Regent / Bond Streets, Covent Garden, Theatres, this has the perfect location. The hotel was busy, but our room was quiet. Food in the resteraunt, especially the unusual afternoon tea, was really enjoyable. It's not cheap, but we felt it was good value, and we will be using it again.

    Pocket Guide: London

Enclosed by an orbital motorway, London is a mighty 620 square miles of metropolis which appears to have its own gravitational field, yet no single point of focus. Don't be daunted. It isn't necessary to introduce yourself to every inch of every borough to get to know England's capital, but instead it's important to embrace its diversity, from Big Ben to Brixton, and plan your journey well.

London eludes definition. A place of extremes and contradictions, it has transformed from robustly English capital to truly multicultural city. Having experienced Renaissance, revolution, and revival, and survived fire, plague, and war, the city has a pretty interesting history, the best of which it holds on to. Visit its monuments and museums and you'll come across ancient and modern London, and learn about its wealth, poverty, ambitions, reality, and make-believe. From the Tower of London to Buckingham Palace, the major monuments pull in the crowds, but make sure you take some time to explore its back alleys, quiet squares, and colorful markets.

    Art in the city

As red buses, black cabs, and pigeons encircle Trafalgar Square, there is no mistaking where you are. Stop by the National Gallery to look at some of the world's finest artworks, ranging from Leonardo's meticulous sketches to Turner's chromatic landscapes, or for a fix of modern art, visit the converted Bankside power station, the Tate Modern. The gallery covers art from 1900 to the present day, and its enormous Turbine Hall displays specially commissioned works.

    Razzmatazz and all that jazz

Finding entertainment in London is as easy as finding books in a library. In the West End theater district, you can choose from musicals, theater, and comedy shows. Based on the songs of the band Queen, We Will Rock You is currently showing at the Dominion theater. From April to October, you can see some of Shakespeare's greatest plays in the faithfully reconstructed Globe theater. It's no surprise that London attracts influential artists from all musical genres; and you can listen in pubs, theaters, basements, arenas, churches, and parks.

    Serious shopping and hearty meals

There's great shopping throughout the city. From high-end Harrods to cheap and cheerful Camden market, the city caters to every budget and taste. When it comes to food, the same rule applies, so whether you're after a comforting English breakfast, a reviving curry, or tea at the Ritz, you'll never run out of options.

The London Eye will give you a bird's-eye view of the river Thames looping through the capital, as well as the city's many parks. In a city of skyscrapers, buildings on top of buildings, and crowded public transport, London is thankfully protective of its beautiful green spaces. Find everything from rose garden to meadow and woodland in its eight Royal Parks, which offer free guided walks to explore the flora and fauna, and trace the city's royal, political, and literary associations.
