I was looking for a reasonably priced (for London) family room within walking distance of the US Embassy, but also close enough to attractions north of the Thames. The Carlton fit that bill. Its furnishings are a bit dated, but the family room we had was perfect for three people to lay their heads for a night. It's a five minute walk to Pimlico tube station, which gets you to Victoria and onwards easily. The area was super quiet at night--and that's with the window open. Staff interaction was limited, but polite when it happened. Only caution I would give is the hotel is not for anyone with mobility. I think our room was five floors up--fine if you only have rucksacks like us, but I probably wouldn't want to haul luggage up!

Very compact room in a small hotel. No lift, so have to carry luggage up 2 floors. Good location with food options around. Tube station at about 10min walk. Bus stop across hotel. Nice street with white cherry blossoms- March. Good for few nights stay with comfy bed and blankets.

Very great and reasonably priced option to stay in London over night. Clean, safe and cozy. Additional gratitude to the receptionist, who kindly helped with charger. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Pleased to find this last minute
Thanks for fitting me in for last minute booking when train strikes announced. A small room and a bit noisy but appreciate that it was probably the last one available. All clean and facilities all worked.

I dropped the TV remote between the bed and wall and when I retrieved it I for litter, and old sock and a half-eaten candybar. I was freezing in the room as the wall heater was only on occasionally. I strongly recommend you stay away from this place.

Budget hotel
Budget hotel and does what it says on the tin. Very basic and feel it could do with freshening up. Bathroom is tiny and shower is basic. Was like a wet room and we found it difficult to shut the door if using the toilet. Bedding and towels very clean and room was cleaned while we were there. We wanted a budget hotel and this is what it is so we were satisified with what we got

If you need a cheap decent room for the night
We had the first room directly next to the customer service front desk and it was okay. Small bathroom with tiny shower but the room size was decent.

Not great but it was cheaper than the standard London rate. Place is old and creaky, quite noisy outside with the constant smell of cooking coming from somewhere nearby.

No elevator, had to carry bags up a floor. Charged us for early check in even though rooms were readily available. No maps at reception. Way overcharged for a taxi when leaving, probably because they got a kickback. Sewer gas smell in bathroom, extremely small bathroom. Would not recommend.

its already mentioned in the description that we have no elevator . Also early check-in charges are mentioned on the net. You were placed on a lower floor. .You had booked a double room but we have given you a triple room without charging extra . Regarding the taxi it has nothing to do with us its just a service which we give only if the customers askes for it.

They initially were going to make me wait until 2pm. It was 145pm. Then I think they switched me room. Up or down? I'm unsure. Got the one next to the desk. It was fine. A bit noisy and smoke from smokers at the entrance came thru the window. Big room. Tiny tv. Best pillows of the trip. Shower took up the whole room. It's like they stuck a sink and toilet in it. Lots of hot rod noise from the street and noise from people loitering. Lots of hotels around here. Mostly good though. No fan or ac, Charge 5L for wifi.

Was the cheapest best price for a 1 night stay I could find close to Victoria coach station in London. Had a nice shower. There was plenty of white sugar and tea coffee to use in your room. There's no lift in this small hotel. So you will need to be strong to go up the stairs to your room if you're not booked downstairs

Pleasant hotel
The hotel was very central and only 10-20 minutes walk to lots of attractions. The staff were very friendly, and out room was cleaned and bed changed everyday. The bed was a bit hard and bathroom very basic, but overall just what we needed as were out all day so just went back to sleep.

The room was right next to the reception. When entering you could see already how dirty it was. Pillows had stains and the walls looked like blood was all over. We tried to talk to the manager but every time when asked of course the manager was not on site. The classic scenario. Ended up booking another hotel and just left. Followed up with an email but haven't gotten any response.

The hotel is a bit old and not well maintained. Basic utility is poor, e.g. wifi is not included and mobile reception cannot be reached. We seems to be isolated!

The place is very old, no elevator with super small bathroom where water gets everywhere. Electricity went out one day on our entire floor. Beds are old and could hurt your back. Staff was super nice, but the place was yuck.

Very basic
Very basic. Our room was up 4 full flights of stairs, there is no lift and not even a question of whether we could manage, if we needed help with our luggage or anything. The hotel charges for Wifi (£5 for 2 devices) which is ridiculous in 2023. We only had 3 towels for 4 guests and the room was dusty. It's a good location though, very quiet street (for London) and close to lots of sights. Would recommend to stay in one of the other hotels on the same street and give this one a miss.
