"Great for a couple stay. Stayed for birthday - hotel gifted chocolates & card was a nice touch. Hotel was clean & rooms & bathrooms were spacious. (Bathroom lighting was great when needing to do makeup for night out) Wasn’t able to check in until 3pm - wish being able to purchase early check in was a thing. However was able to have a drink at the bar while we waited for room. Parked on site was great , felt car was safe. Was £12 for 24hrs. Breakfast buffet was so nice , paid extra for this...

"So this is a review of two parts. If you are lucky to be in one of the newer refurbished rooms which is what you see on all the pictures then I can understand the higher scores for this hotel. However, if you are in the extremely dated rooms this is a different review altogether. The 1st room given was extremely dated and tired with mould on the bottom part of one of the walls. "We have stayed at the Adelphi on numerous occasions but this might be the last. The shabby splendour has reached a new bottom. The bar had an unpleasant smell as did the communal areas. You could not use the front doors due to refurbishment. The Matress in our room was terrible and really hard...we did not sleep well. We overheard another couple saying they had been woken up by someone kicking a door in further down the corridor on the same floor as ours. Unsavoury characters also hanging around...

"As always the staff were wonderful, special shoutout to Martin and Nathan. We stayed in the president room this time which has its own separate livingroom, ceiling fans in both rooms. On the first floor, turn right as you leave the lift and the room is just through the doors, turn left as you come out of the lift and you are at the restaurant. Food was good,especially breakfast, meals are buffet style. Parking is £10 per night although there is on street parking next to the hotel. Something to...
