Excellent location but in need of modernisation
Very spacious hotel with fantastic location right on the lake side. Quality breakfast, good size pool and free easy to use parking. Hotel could benefit from an upgrade as a little tired and dated. This was in agreement with previous reviews we had read before booking but did not impact on the time in this resort.

Apart from hotel courtesy taxi prearranged with hotel not picking us up from Milan airport(phoned hotel which told to get taxi from rank outside airport) and room near noisy air-conditioning unit (changed room) enjoyed our stay. Near ferry stop, lake views, nice pool and sunbeds, air-conditioned lounge and bar, nice terrace with lake view for drinks outside. Lots of good restaurants nearby with lake views. Favourite was Harry's Bar.

Great location right on the lake. Superb service and ambiance. The pool was nice and refreshing, but the hot tub looked like it needed some attention. Overall and excellent value for the price. We would love to come visit again!

There was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was ok, room for improvement. Also staff service at breakfast could improve a little. Had to remaind them to refill few iteams often. Lovely swimming pool.

It’s right on the lake and the ferry stops right behind the hotel. Well situated, child friendly and good location. Only thing I didn’t like is the air conditioning was a bit noisy. Overall very good!

Property requires a major overhaul it is very dated. The hotel was not the cleanest we have been in. The staff did not seem interested in the customers often not serving us in an efficient manner or even not serving us at all. When we complained nothing appeared to be done about it.

Old and clearly used hotel, which have seen better days. It smells like a perfume factory, and NOT in a good way. The breakfast is included, but you are better off finding a cozy place youself, as the breakfest is below expectations.

This place reminded me so much of the tattered chic sensibilities of Royal Tenenbaums and The Grand Budapest Hotel. It was a little old school glamour with red velvet couches and brass. And just slightly well worn. Everything was clean. Nice gated parking lot, breakfast with multiple options.

When entering it felt like walking into an ancient Medevial Castle.Complemented by the beautiful Chandeliers. A beautiful garden greets you when stepping outside We were welcomed by a very friendly gentleman who was fast and effecient.Breakfast was good and sufficient. There was 6 staff members on duty during breakfast which is not common.We were iffered some cofffee on our arrival as soon as we were seated.The rooms are big you feel like you are walking into an apartment with its little entrance hall.Our daughter loved everything about this Hotel. What we liked about the staff is that they were friendly yet classy.I would recommend this Hotel to anyonexwho appreciates good Architecture.

Beautiful hotel in charming Cernobbio
We loved this hotel! It's a very traditional European hotel, with a wonderful breakfast. The location is fantastic--right across from the lake, in the charming town of Cernobbio. We would definitely stay here again!

Hotel is old, as expected online Como, but charms with its view on the lake. However, the bathroom toilet had hair (not from head/face) that did not belong to us. The queen size bed was "composed of two single beds kept together only by the sheet... Hardly enough to avoid one of us falling through. Additionally, it was posted on wheels... And moving it did. The wifi was INEXISTENT, despite the advertised "in all rooms." Having traveled a good part of the world, I did not expect that from a charming hotel in Cernobbio. Personnel is courteous, but nothing more. When I reported the wifi issue the reply was: "well, bring down the laptop and we can check together if it works..." I am not a computer genius, but I know the capabilities of my Macbook, since I use it daily on wifi. Besides, even if worked in the lobby, how would that help me to achieve service in the room? In summary, this is not a terrible property to spend time, but the multiple "misses" on details makes it very unlikely I will spend time there again.

I had stayed in 6 hotels in the Lake Como area before I stayed here and this was one of the most expensive one I stayed in. While the location is lovely, the hotel was disappointing from initial check-in onwards. I arrived after the advertised check-in time. The receptionist didn’t welcome me or provide any details on the timing of breakfast and the wi-if instructions. She just copied my passport and gave me my key. When I went up to the room, the bed was not made so I came back down. She didn’t apologize but told me it would be ready in 5-7 mins. I was concerned as to how much cleaning would be done between guests but I didn’t say anything. 40 mins later I was told my room was ready. While the bed had been made now, the smell of air freshener was extremely overwhelming. During my stay I became convinced that someone had done a cost cutting exercise, as it appeared that the quality was minimal in all areas. It was particularly evident in the following: - 1 towel was provided - Toiletries were basic - No complementary drinking water was provided - The breakfast buffet- coffee was weak, bread choice limited and croissants tasteless. It also appeared that staff avoided eye contact with guests and everyone appeared to be jaded by tourists. The exception was the clearner on my floor and one gentleman server at the breakfast buffet. They were both very friendly. When I left this hotel I moved to a 3 star one which cost $40 less per night and it was far superior.

Great base to have for Lake Como Holiday
Nice and close to the pier to be able to get boats and a short hop to Como, where all method of transport was available. Nice resort and hotel was comfortable. I had a lovely visit and would recommend this resort as a good base to visit all of the lake.

Close to the lake with easy private parking this dog friendly hotel is an ideal spot. The rooms are a good size and the air-conditioning works well. The breakfast has a wide chice of hot and cold dishes. Overall a pleasant place to stay.

The location is perfect especially if you are able to get a lake view room. Which we did!!! Perfect views to wake up or to sit on the small balcony to have a rest and relax. Pool is great to sit around all day or to relax after visiting other towns via the good boat service available less than to mins away . Weather was extremely hot but the air conditioning kicked in well Staff were helpful especially when we asked for Gluten Free bread . Overall an excellent holiday right next to Harry's Bar where George Clooney enjoyed a meal and drink or two!!!!!!

Lovely old style hotel in great location
This is a lovely older plush style which is in a perfect location in Cernobbio, which we think is the best location in Lake Como. It had an elegant style, with old world charm. Staff were friendly and service was good. Uncertain if the restaurant was actually open, as it always seemed deserted. But this didn't matter as you are surrounded by many restaurants.

Nice classical hotel, enjoyed my stay
I thought the hotel was very nice, excellent and multi-lingual staff. Everyone was friendly and accommodating meaning front desk ladies, breakfast staff, bartender and housekeeping, really nice. Breakfast buffet was very good, served on a mezzanine overlooking the.front lobby. Its in a great spot as close as you can be to Como, 2 ferry stops which is a nice walk thru Chernobbio's square to the dock, but yet escape the touristy hustle bustle in Como for a more relaxed environment. My room had a balcony overlooking the pool, very nice. My only complaint was not the greatest WiFi reception where I was at the far end. But the balcony made up for it. Local restaurants with outdoor seating just outside, but have a cocktail or beer with a great bartender in the hotel bar. He'll tell you about diving the lake, sailing, etc as he's a local as most of the staff seem to be. I've seen some complaints about the hotel being outdated and in need of some updates, but folks, its a 200 year old hotel and nicely kept. I thought it very classical for the time period. Enjoyed my stay and thanks to all the staff for a 2 night visit.

Very nice hotel in great area
Great location, right near boat station, clean, good service. The only problem is you can hear everything happening in the next room, walls are very thin. Breakfast is ok( cereal, juices, cold cuts, boiled eggs and scrambled eggs). Parking is available what is very important. They have shampoo but no conditioner . Beds are pretty comfortable( a little soft for some people)

The location is fantastic. The price was very reasonable. Parking was included. A safe crib provided for the little one. The staff was friendly and accommodating. ... We MOSTLY enjoyed the stay here! But like many other reviews, the breakfast was horrendous! Overly salty bacon (how is this possible!?), odd powdery instant scrambled eggs, watery juice, off-flavored coffee ... even for this Midwestern American use to plain breakfasts, this was too much, but especially for beautiful Italy. Sad really because it is the last experience before departing. The hotel has real potential as the location and people are really good ... but it seems to be a problem of management trying to cut corners and save a penny, when in reality they should spend a buck and then charge you twenty more! You will see it in the small details throughout your entire stay. With that said, for the right price right now, I highly recommend it ... just don't ruin the experience and plan on eating out at one of the many nearby charming cafes.

Wonderful hotel on Lake Como
This hotel is a gem. Location is fabulous and parking couldn't be better, right in front of the entrance. This is an older hotel, but with wonderful charm and character. It's right across from the marina and ferry dock and the views of the lake from your private balcony are terrific. Breakfast was great, except for powdered eggs, and service was exceptional. All in all this was a fantastic find. Only wish our stay had been longer.
