We have stayed at the Park Royal and after 4 weeks in Europe decided to stay for a well deserved break before heading back to Perth. As with before we booked a Club Room and we're not disappointed. The staff were fantastic and nothing too much trouble. Farelynn and Natasha were very helpful when we needed any assistance. We have recommended to others to stay and would definitely return next time.
Booked this hotel for an overnight in Singapore. The hotel was rated 3 1/2 stars, the price was reasonable (for Singapore), and the location was good. Since it was a boutique hotel, I didn't expect all the bells and whistles, but I was sorely disappointed anyway. Our room had no windows. The hotel had no parking and had no suggestions about where to put my car. The desk was a fold-down shelf between the bed and the TV so that my wife couldn't watch TV if I wanted to use the desk.
An excellent bijou hotel in the Malay part of town which is great if you want to be away from the hustle of centre. with a taste of the life and culture of Singapore but easy to get into the city. The staff could not have done enough for us, upgraded room as we arrived early - small but perfectly good enough for an overnight stay with a lovely shower room, included breakfast which is unusual at the rate and complimentary soft drinks in the fridge. Stored our luggage for the day as had a late flight but then gave us a room to shower with towels and toiletries free of charge. Highly recommend
Okay. First, I was shocked to hear that I had to pay a deposit of $50.00. Seems silly I guess since I've already paid a week back. Of course they will return it back, but I just find it silly.
Second, the room. Looks cosy. Bed, not comfortable. Noise can be heard both outside and corridor of hotel. And there was no comb. Really weird.
Lastly, breakfast. Breakfast was good. I'll rate it at 8/10. We had english breakfast. The only disappointing part was the baked beans was served cold. Other than that, i find it good. Great service though.
Overall, not advisable as i can get better value from other hotels. The room itself need to improve. The deposit was really a joke. But the service from our breakfast that day was excellent. And yes, the breakfast, great.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was fine for myself, my husband and 1 year old child. The only drawback was that there was no microwave, which I found unusual, given there is a nespresso machine, steam oven, induction cooktop etc - fancy kitchen appliances which I don't even have at home!
We were able to make up my daughters food by heating on the stove and the staff were accommodating in letting us keep a highchair in the room. The pool was quite cold unless you were actually going to a swim - if you just want a soak and splash, its a bit too nippy. We stopped taking our daughter up to the pool as she started shivering after about 5 minutes in there.
Location is great, especially if you're not an Orchard Rd shopper. We didn't pay more than $10 Sing dollars to go by taxi anywhere (except to the airport) and didn't travel more than 10 min by road, but managed to fill our time each day. The Arab quarter and surrounding areas have plenty to do with a young baby, and there are plenty of nearby restaurants to get takeaway from if your stuck in your room early when bub goes to sleep.
The door between the bedroom and the living area is quite solid and worked well to reduce noise for when our daughter slept - we had her in the portacot in the bedroom and we were in the living area until we also went to bed. The living area is spacious and the suite had plenty of storage so it never felt cramped.
Looking for an economical hotel? This one could be your another good option. The hotel is located on the opposite of Sultan's Kitchen which provides you with a variety of delicious foods, yet they are very cheap. The hotel staffs are friendly and very helpful especially the female one. However, it may take you about 10-15 minutes walking from SMRT to the hotel as it is located in between Bugis and Lavender stations.
Didn't expect much before I go since it's a low budget hotel. But they really surprised me with the cleanliness and tidiness and free flow hot beverages they provided at the root top. Besides the hot beverages, they have a TV and 2 iMac in the living room right next to the registration counter for customers to chit chat and lay around. It was a pretty awesome stay there. Definitely will go back to this hotel when I travel to Singapore next time.
Had two short stays in the pod, it was great value for money and surprisingly comfortable for being a small box pretty much, nice and cool and very clean like most of Singapore. I've been talking it up since I've been home and will be going back again.
