Beds and pillows are uncomfortable, room was extremely hot even with the ac on, carpets are old and there was a faint smell of smoke in the room. Breakfast was ok. Wouldn’t stay again.

The hotel is very convenient for the station and the town centre. However, our room was on the side of the train tracks and there were trains travelling right through the night - very noisy!

Never a 4 star hotel. Had to chance rooms because the Wi-Fi wasn’t working in the first and the room looked out over the station. Second room was better but Wi-Fi still almost non-existent. Really grim and depressing reception. Average breakfast. Can do much better for your money in Hannover. Would not recommend.

Basic hotel

Basic hotel. Plus - clean, good TV in the room, big bathroom, etc. The breakfast bar had solid options, continental style. Check-in was very pleasant and quick. Minus - my room smelled damp and stale. The carpet, although clean, has not been updated for years and all the dirt stains are very noticeable. Also, my window was on the side street, accepting deliveries until late. I could hear people upstairs. Generally, this hotel needs an update. If you only care about a good night's sleep, a reasonable price and somewhere to keep your things, while being close to Hannover centre - this will be an ok choice.

Hannover weekend

Excellent stay at the Grand Hannover. One of my favorites. Good city location. Big rooms. First class service at Breakfast, with the team making sure everything was fresh, well presented. Thank you. Will return.

Very spacious room with a nice large bathtub, something we hadn't experienced yet in Europe. Perfect location for walking to restaurants for dinner and easy access to the train station.

I am travelling by bicycle and this hotel was located close to the train station. I enjoy old hotels versus modern chains. It was in a good walking location, the staff was very helpful. As an English speaking person I found it difficult to find the entrance. I thought the sign said go left when the sign really meant use the left door.

Nice location... parking not perfect.

The hotel and breakfast was fine. Our room was facing the train tracks; the windows were extremely soundproof so we didn't hear the trains. A train station was just a couple of blocks away as was a shopping area. Hotel Parking was offered... but when requested, it was always full. We parked 300 meters away at 12 euros a day.

Great stay except staff just entering room

The hotel is close to the central station and offers spacious rooms. The room was very clean and comfy. Check-In staff was friendly and always helpful. Breakfast was being delivered to the room at a selected time. The breakfast was also really good. The only negative was that the cleaning staff just entered the room at 9am, even though there was a 'Do not disturb' sign on the door and the door was locked. This should not happen in any case that someone just bursts into your room, but especially not in current times. Even afterward I was continuously asked whether I'd still be in my room but at least they then knocked first. This was all long before Check-Out time at noon.

Fantastic Location

Nice hotel with refurbished rooms. Breakfast was simple due to covid-measures and was brought on plates to each table. Prior to booking, I read a lot of reviews about noise from the train station. I didn't hear a thing even though my room was facing the railway tracks. The windows are sound proof and the rooms have AC, so need to open them during the summer. Very few parking spots, so be prepared to pay and park on the streets in the neighborhood. Great hotel and definitely worth booking again for the price.

Good location, big room, good value.

Great hotel for the price. Big room, air con, quiet for a city centre location. A couple of blocks the the station and not to far to walk to find bars and shopping. They even provided a packed breakfast for us since we needed to leave early to catch a train.

lawed but not without merit

The lobby area is dark and a little tired - not up to its billing as a 4* hotel. But the reception staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Rooms were decent, but didn’t have irons or ironing boards (again, a true 4* would tick this box). Good shower. Covid breakfast is a buffet of pastries, bread rolls, cold meat and cheese brought to the table: not ideal.main drawback is the blouse of the trains which were still running at 2am when I went to bed. If you’re a heavy sleeper this central hotel represents a good deal, but if you’re not, you may wish to pay the extra for a quieter location.

Dear Andrew, thank you for your stay in our house and your feedback. During the Covid-19 situation we do not offer our breakfast in a buffet form. For ANY requires and extras you can talk to our service team and we will bring you the extras like cappuccino and eggs to your table. We will change our hotel system for restaurant when we have a clear situation causing the Covid-19 situation. Our house has two options: out to the train tracks and out to the street; the rooms out to the street are quiet so that is possible to change the room to the other side. Just come to the reception to change the room; we will find a solution. I wish you all the best and hope you can give us a second chance after the Covid-19 situation.

Grand Palace Hotel Hannover

My one night stay was excellent - an easy 5 min walk from the main station and department stores/shopping. Only one small issue, with the hotel being very close to the train station and railway, for the hearing sesitive, sometimes a little noisy in the evening.

Close to the old town and station

A well presented but slightly jaded hotel. The hotel is a short walk away from the main station and the old town. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is lovely (except they only had bacon on a couple of days during my stay). The layout of the bathroom in my room was a bit strange as a raised shower exited onto the toilet. This meant sitting was quite tough and getting out the shower, even for a reasonably agile person, was challenging at times. The carpet was a bit worn in places. The bed being wedged between a fixed side table and the wall was a little restricting when sleeping. However, a pleasant stay!

What I liked was that the room is double with twin beds, it was spacious enough to have an extra bed. What I didn't like was the extra bed that was a bit small. In addition in the Bathroom, there wasn't a possibility to have a body shower. It was either the shower from head to toe, either you don't take shower

The property is very convenient; because we were there on a weekend, parking was not a problem, but we're not sure it would have been as easy (on the street right by the hotel) during the week? Things were a bit dated, and our room looked onto a back alley which wasn't ideal.

Grand old stay

Very well cared for old style hotel, close to station. Quiet and very spacious room was a pleasure to be in. Breakfast was very good and staff obliging - what more could you want?
