I had a horrible checkout (I had to pay 50 RMB because I didn't want to reach to look in my bag for the room key, because I was running late for the flight), the staff slowed me down for the Taxi as it took forever to checkout & find a Taxi! (eventually missed the flight). My 4/5 rating is my attempt to leave a general feedback for the stay (10 days), the price was fine and staff were good in general.
The gym location is inconvenient, I had to put on the hotel designer hat, but with the abundance of windowless rooms they tried to offer me (I booked a normal room!), some of them can be easily altered to fitness, yoga, jacuzzi, massage rooms & maybe a store. Windowless rooms don't exist in 4 & half star hotels! The 1984 type of sign-in/sign-out for the gym is also unnecessary, the camera identifies who walked in & if they must know who used the gym & a key swipe entrance will do the trick, it didn't feel like a hotel gym...but then that might be the norm in China.
The food was excellent, so that helped alot, the lobby & building are impressive, it looked better than the other hotels in Guangzhou so its worth a try
