"A gem! The breakfast each morning was delicious and they had a wide variety of food while being sensitive to dietary restrictions. They served wine and snacks in the evening. The room was clean and had a great setup with a nice screened-in balcony and fireplace. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was quiet and very close to the beach (they have bikes to ride over there and beach towels to borrow!). Parking right on site and a pretty view of the marina. We were so happy...

"We loved a one night stay at Riverside cottages. We were there for a graduation from college of Charleston. And our whole family had a beach house at Folly Beach so we decided to just rent one of the bedrooms in the cottages. It was very pleasant. Everything was clean a good night sleep. The bed was comfortable. The next morning was a great surprise. "Clean room, stocked with beach and bath towels. Bed and pillows were surprisingly very comfortable allowing for a great night sleep. Bath had a personal jacuzzi tub. Their outdoor jacuzzi along with their spa robes felt like a luxurious experience at the spa. The wife and I bought a wine bottle, and their front desk provided the cork opener and glasses. Breakfast was a homier version of a hotel's continental breakfast. Staff was friendly and offered golf cart rides to the local beach."

"We loved our stay at The Ryder Hotel—it is a super cute and conveniently located hotel. The rooms are spacious, the amenities are great, and the staff is very helpful. My one piece of advice is to get to the pool early if you want a lounge chair as it is pretty small and fills up quickly!"

"Well, staff tried to help… but the room was discussing. Water all on the carpet, huge wet stain on the couch. Pillows have nasty yellow stains. The kicker is when I called the front desk to get help with the room they ask my name… said “who are you??”.. they checked me under another guest name!! Still waiting to get the stay figured out."

The rate was affordable, and the property is in the same area as other much more expensive hotels. It’s close to restaurants, Walmart, and plenty of takeout options, which made everything very convenient. Parking was a breeze.
