"These people are not interested in their guests and do not deserve anyone's custom. Apart from the barman, the owners completely ignored us on arrival while huddled around a table with their backs to us. We had travelled over 200 miles to get there, having booked many weeks ago and paid for They left us standing there for over 40 minutes with no explanation as to why we were still waiting for the key to our room. "An elegantly appointed fairly formal country house in a beautiful rural setting, not far from a tiny small village. The rooms are comfortable and the hosts provide a great breakfast. Access to and from the property from the A roads was interesting to say the least. Single lane “roads” for the 2 miles either side of the property require a fair degree of both caution and concentration. Some parts will barely allow a car to pass. That said, it is worth the trip. Just do it slowly!"

"Traditional pub building in the middle of a village. The bar was full of local people having a good time but no noise made it through to the bedroom due to very thick walls. Nice room, clean, huge bed plenty of indirect lighting and enough power points. New en suite bathroom. Very friendly but unobtrusive staff. Excellent full English breakfast."

"What a gorgeous house in a beautiful area, well run by a lovely couple. We had a wonderful stay; this little gem is tucked away on a quiet hillside spot, with breathtaking views of the coast and on the doorstep of lovely walks, and just a few minutes walk to the towns of Lynton & Lynmouth. Our room was lovely; warm, clean and spacious, a pretty and comfortable bed, soft bedding and nice pillows with a great sea view.
