"This Hotel hit all the spots for our small intimate family wedding for our daughter. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our rooms were perfect. The gardens were beautiful and well looked after a perfect setting for photographs. The food in the evening and at breakfast great and plenty of choice. A big thank you to all the staff."

"The bed and breakfast is Cowes was in a great location. It was easy to walk to town and parking for our vehicle was provided. The hosts were terrific - providing great recommendations for dinners and things to do. The breakfast was delicious and was a great start to our day. The hosts’ 2 dogs were so CUTE!"

"This was in a great location but unfortunately the lift had broken a month before we arrived and no one informed us. We found walking up 5 flights of stairs not the easiest and wish we had been informed. The air conditioning didn’t work either though we did have a fan. The heat in the room was overbearing."

"Kind of okay, but some of the staff were really bothered if you need anything or ask them a question. At the pub the staff were a bit weird and made us feel not welcomed. Most of them looked very tense and wanted you to get out of their faces quickly. Some of them were good. They should leave more milk bags in the rooms."

"Got upgraded to a lovely studio room. Room was quiet, had excellent facilities in the room such as a kitchenette, table with games and a view over the park. There was also good amenities such as a gym. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. The only criticism is that they need to be clearer about parking as didn't realise this needed to be booked in advance. It was all booked out and I needed to reserve another space elsewhere with justpark."

"The room was spacious and clean although there was a noticeable chip out of the wardrobe beading. The HarBar6th could have been cleaner a lot of crumbs trapped between the tile top and glass. Lunch in the Jetty restaurant was good, but the table was not cleared at the completion of dessert course and no tea or coffee offered. Somewhat disappointing for a 5 star hotel."

"The only factor in favour for the hotel is the history and the period property. It needs sprucing up the exterior and somewhat the interior. Room can get hot despite not south face. Breakfast was too slow and so we left without having the main item , 40 minutes after entering.They wrote that breakfast is leisurely but it could be putting a spin on the low staffing.Reception personnel are not quite welcoming or service like.."

"Older building, no elevator. Clean room, fresh air, right price. We had a cruise the next morning, was a wonderful night stay and dinner was fantastic. Breakfast was top quality also. Chris"

"Plus points , within walking distance of the ferry lots of shops, bars, restaurants et cetera. Food in the bar a bit hit and miss but some stuff very nice. Quite fairly priced, clean good quality towels, even though I would say any at level cleanliness is a must and a basic., missing at this property. Negative points, very tired and dirty decor, lots of narrow steep flights of stairs, no wardrobe, no offer of help to carry bags up the flights of stairs when shown to you're room ,even though it...

"Selected this spot as we were sailing out on a cruise the next day. Great location, staff set up a taxi for our group, knew what port/platform we needed to be at (just by saying our cruise line.) They were friendly and informative. Hotel is perfectly located beside a shopping mall which allowed us to do a little shopping before leaving and gather some last minute items. Would recommend this property and hope to return in the near future."

"The first problem was that we only had bath towels in the room and no others, but when we asked they brought them up. Then when we opened the sheets to get into bed, one side of the bed was dirty. The food in the restaurant was very good and they offered ice water anytime you wanted it. It was a great hotel to use for getting onto a cruise."

"Everything in the room was spotless as in the bathroom. However the bathroom would be even better with some hooks on the wall as there was nowhere to hang one’s toilet bag or dressing gown."

"Beautiful historic mansion. We walked thru nearby parks to the riverfront for lunch. The outdoor restaurant at Orange Grove was very pleasant for an evening dinner and happy hour. The admiral lounge is very comfortable while waiting for pickup to go to the airport or cruise ships."

"Leonardo at Charlotte place was an excellent choice pre cruise. Ideally located. The staff at reception were great at our check in and were extremely helpful with our luggage storage at check out and on departure to the cruise port. This will be our hotel of choice when cruising from Southampton in the future"
