This hotel was decent enough, but you get what you pay for. This hotel sits in the city center, and it is steps away from cafes, stores, shopping, and Independence Plaza. It is on a very busy street, so if you fly into Montevideo and are looking to sleep, get a room in the back of the hotel. The room was very clean, but it was very simple and spare. We had a bed with nightstands, a mini fridge, and that was it. We had to change rooms after the first night because of extremely loud neighbors partying until 5 in the morning, and we didn't want to put up with that during our stay. Also, all the floors in the hotel including the rooms and the hallways are wood, so you can hear everyone walking around above you and in the hallways. Very noisy. The hotel is doing work on the rooms on the second floor, so it gets quite noisy mid-morning if you are on the 3rd floor like we were. The breakfast buffet is all cold items like bread, cereal, juice, and fruit. No eggs or anything else hot. The showers in both rooms were oddly shaped and you have to be a contortionist to shampoo and lather up. The front desk personnel were okay, and one guy was borderline rude and crabby the whole time we were there. We asked for a later checkout....30 minutes more.....and he had a fit. I would stay somewhere else next time and pay a little more to upgrade to a better property.
