Great hotel, upgraded to a suite, staff excellent. Central location, good pool, couldn't ask for more

We stayed at the rex hotel in the new wing section with two young children aged 7 and 5 on 1/4/2013 to 5/4/2013. The room was extremely clean and had a fresh smell everytime we entered our room. It was also nice and quiet at night and the staff were very helpful and professional. The breakfast was excellent with different variety of good quality food. The rooftop bar was nice with a terrific view but a bit expensive. Great location with walking distance to ben thanh market.

Good quality hotel close to all main tourist sights. Staff very efficient and warm in manner. Staff gave helpful tips and provided city map and list of good locl restaurants Good breakfast daily. Hotel transport costs to the airport very reasonable.

Old wordly style hotel that whilst a little out of town is more than suitable. Clean, safe and a private beach to boot!

This hotel is a good bargain in that it''s location is goor being right across from the beach and it's a low cost. Furnishings are older and a bit worn. Staff helpful and friendly. English is pretty good. Brakfast is just ok. Wifi included and worked well. Seafood street vendors are right outside in the evening.

We loved this hotel - clean, comfortable beds (new doonas, pillows and matress tops were put on all beds while we were there), delicious breakfast choices, fabulous central location but best of all was the staff. They went out of their way to help and were always smiling and friendly - even at 5am when they opened up for us after getting the night train from Sapa! We stayed a total of 6 nights in our 2 week trip and each time we returned it was like coming home.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were met by three of them, Linda renegotiated with the taxi driver who was made to return about 130,000 dong to us ($6.50) because she said he charged more than normal. We were upgraded a room. Breakfasts were substantial. The old quarter is where the atmosphere is, but take a trip to the Metropole for a contrast! Always ask for a suite as some rooms are small.
