“Very pleasantly surprised”

Since I had to be at DePaul for a week, I booked the hotel because of a "stay 3 get one free" deal. I was concerned about the age of the building and quality of the rooms as the visit approached and I hoped for the best. I was very pleasantly surprised that the room and entire stay wildly exceeded my expectations. Very spacious room, a suite with a large living room, couch and desk, a king sized bed, a large bathroom with relatively new fixtures and good ventilation. Located right in the heart of the action, the hotel/room was one of the best parts of the visit to Chicago. Very comfortable - give it a try.

“Worth More Than the Cost”

I stayed at the Travelodge while attending a conference at the downtown Hilton. It cost less per night, and getting to my conference took about a 5 minute walk. This hotel is in the middle of downtown and right next to the Mag Mile, so the location is golden. The staff were very polite and gracious, helping us to hail cabs or directing us to a great restaurant. The rooms are standard, but absolutely nothing was wrong. My only complaint was the windows let a little cold air in, so we had to turn up the heat at times. Otherwise, a great stay, great hotel, a trip that was worth more than the cost.

“Chicago Marathon weekend”

We were there for the Chicago Marathon and everything was packed. The hotel is older - you can't deny that. BUT, the facilities were clean and the service of the staff was OUTSTANDING. We were not from Chicago and they did everything possible to help us. Directions, recommendations of restaurants...all were exceptional. The staff was superb. If you're not going to be snobby about the physical facility, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Good condition for a good price and great staff. If I'm going to Chicago in the future, I WILL stay there.

“"Perfect, just what we needed"”

For the price paid, everything about Travel Lodge was absolutely fantastic! One block from Red line, about ten minutes walk to Blue line, Millenium Park pratically across the street! Easy to get to Wriglyville and all other desired locations. It is the least expensive in the area and was perfectly clean, friendly and acceptable. Not fancy schmancy but who stays in the room all day? Lastly, about all the "noise of the train" many complained about, wear some ear plugs- it's not that bad at all. Thanks! :)

“GREAT MODERATELY PRICED LOOP LOCATED HOTEL. CLEAN”

Travelodge downtown Chicago is a great buy for a moderate hotel in downtown Chicago. In the Chicago Loop area. The hotel is located centrally for $10 taxi rides to Shedd Aquariam, Museum of Natural History, the Navy Pier, The Willis Tower, and just blocks from Macy's and Marshall Field. Our room was moderately sized for two double beds and worked perfectly for us. There is a wonderful moderately priced restaurant about 4 blocks away called Excaliber. Kind of a cross between sports bar and family restaurant. The attached coffe shop is OK for breakfast and a light sandwich. I would go back to the DOWNTOWN CHICAGO TRAVELODGE IN A HEARTBEAT!!!!

“Great Location!”

This hotel is in a great location, its in walking distance of so many great sights! The service of the hotel staff was excellent and our room was more than comfortable and clean. Only fault i had with this hotel was that there wasn't enough water power in the shower, other than that, would definately stay there again.

“Would Recommend”

Travelodge was clean and comfortable. None of the fancy, treat-you-like-kings stuff, but if all you're looking for is a clean, safe place to spend the night then I would definitely recommend it.

“Great location & service.”

We stayed in Chicago to participate in the Chicago Marathon. The hotel location is within walking distance of the start/finish lines. The room was spacious & included a kitchenette. We were able to get late check-out so I could shower after the marathon before the trip home. Overall a great experience.

“Great place to stay”

My husband and I went to Chicago for both business and a little holiday. The hotel staff was very helpful with letting us know where the local bus stops were to various locations. They were also very knowledgable of the current theatre performances playing. There is a little fast food diner attached that was great for breakfast. It was a wonderful stay.
