Service was excellent, hotel needs some refurbishment, some of the furniture showing its age. Think that it has started a refurbishment already. Large wedding took place but the staff coped well with both and residents weren’t inconvenienced.

Room was dirty with hairs all over the bathroom floor, it was sooooo noisy doors banging at 4 in the morning 2 in the morning shouting the doors slam shut no gentle soft close literally a massive bang! Hotels very dated old and grubby could be amazing needs a total refurb! Breakfast was ok small and not worth the 70£ it cost us ! My daughters were expected to sleep on the sofa bed with no mattress and they out a duvet down as they had no matress very strange would not stay again!

I will not be going again. I was placed behind the hotel due to taking my dog. The bedroom next to mine was having a deep clean l could hear the carpet cleaner and drying machine all day. The fire door was the only entrance/exit to my car/spa leisure centre. When l needed to use the fire door for the spa once back it was closed with my dog/mobile car keys. I needed to walk through the hotel which is on four levels up and down corridors to find reception. The receptionist told me that l could use the fire door to gain access however the maintenance men kept shutting it thus my frustration. I have booked another date with this hotel through yourselves which will be cancelled. I am also making a complaint to head office

As an old building its beautiful. Inside is disgusting. Theres torn carpet, my room was filthy. Old tissues under the bed. Questionable stains on the walls. Thick dust everywhere

The first room I was given was filthy, upon complaining I was given a clean room. It's a beautiful hotel but the cleaning staff or QC lets it down.

Ideal for One Night
Ideal place for a one night stay. Twin room was fine, if maybe a little dated. Breakfast is excellent and all staff were friendly.

Best hotel stay in 15 years.
We had an amazing experience. Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in until we left the next day. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We came for my birthday and we’ll be back for my partners birthday next year. The use of the leisure facilities was a wonderful experience, just what we needed. Thank you!

There was no info in the rooms about the heating consequently the room was cold, but we only slept there, duvetsneed replacing single ones too small, twin rooms are at the furthest end of the bui!ding so walking back and to for info was not the vest plan at 72 yrs of age. Understand the no lift as the building is beautiful and the bathrooms and rooms were very clean breakfast and service was very good in the restaurant it needs the litte things tweaking a phone in the room, info in the room andbigger duvets on the single beds

Booked a room with double bed, the rooms are actually 2 single beds pushed together and they just split apart. Awful nights sleep and would completely avoid in the future. Would not reccomend.

No return for me unfortunately
Unfortunately I wouldn’t return here, I stayed in bed working until I went for breakfast as it was so cold, and I also needed to stay dressed through the night. Woke up with ‘Campers throat’ from breathing cold air all night. The carpet is like a patchwork, the net curtains really need a clean and I have to avoid the bathroom as much as possible as there is black mould which I have an acute allergy to. The mattress is quite thin BUT strangely very comfortable and the duvet is borderline ‘sheet’. I noticed an excessive use of fragrance when I first walked into the bedroom then realised in the morning that the smell was probably to mask the mould odour. Had I realised this when I first checked in, I would never have stayed in the room to begin with. It’s generally clean but dated. And really needs some money spent. I booked based on 1) location and 2) for the pool as I swim (a lot) disappointingly the pool is only 10m long which means it’s no good for swimming (1-2km distances). It’s really very disappointing

Great staff, facilities require improvements
I stayed in the hotel this week end with my family. Staff at the hotel was super helpful especially in reception and in the Spa. The rooms require some improvements, furniture is dated, carpets are old, chairs in restaurants are not up to scratch. The Spa is very nice and we enjoyed use it. Overall a good experience but I will wait for a full refurb before coming back.

Decent hotel for overnight stay
Always find it an acceptable hotel for a one night stay in Burnley. Room was fine and there is always a good breakfast

Cigarettes & Alcohol and it wasn’t my imagination
Room absolutely stunk of cigarettes. We was told by other guests that the person staying in this room had a sex party with multiple people the night before. So guessing they had regular cigarette breaks. Room should not have been habitable at all.

The common areas of the hotel are lovely, however the rooms were quite dated and dull although they were very clean. I had issues sleeping as the mattress was lumpy and there was a whitling noise in the room all night, I think there may have been a boiler in the loft space or something.

The room I stayed was nowhere near what it was advertised - very dated and towels were all yellowed. Constant banging noises which appeared to be someone doing weights in the gym at night and it started from 6:45am. It is a lovely hotel from outside but I would not recommend unfortunately.
