“Great room for a good price”

We loved our room at Metro Hotel Tower Mill. The round building makes for an unusual room shape, and the full-wall window makes for great views and a bright cheery room. The hotel's position on top of a hill gives a nice overview of Brisbane from the good-sized balcony available in every room. However, be aware that this hilltop position makes for a 5-10 minute hill climb if you are walking to the hotel from one of the nearby train stations. The reception staff was very helpful in recommending where in town to go for restaurants, etc.

“Great Price, Great Room”

We'd had a bad experience with a cheaper hotel in Sydney, so I was a bit leery of this one, but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are on the small side, but clean, comfortable and a balcony to boot! The restaurant isn't bad either--packed on the weekends!

“Great Hotel”

The hotel is a funky shape (circular) but that is really the appeal. The large balcony is great for relaxing and having morning coffee! We saw two beautiful parrots in the tree outside our window. Front desk staff were helpful with extra coffee, milk, towels, etc!

“Best little hotel in Brisbane”

Find this hotel a great hotel for a stay in Brisbane. We find the location very handy and the service excellent. One downside is the elevator. There is only one and it can be very slow which is not good for those on the upper floors. If one floor one a short jog up a flight of stairs is most beneficial

“Can't wait to go back”

Not having gone to Brisbane before, and not being a driver, I wanted somewhere with easy access to the city. The Metro Hotel Tower Mill was it. I was also impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness of the hotel. As I was travelling alone, and am young and female, I had some concerns, but I was treated respectfully and appropriately at all times. Definitely recommend as a friendly, comfortable, and convenient place to stay in Brisbane. Valerie

“A quiet hotel with excellent views of Brisbane”

I stayed at the Metro Tower hotel for two nights on a recent trip to Australia and I was quite pleased with the hotel. The staff let me check in 4 hours before the official check in time - having just gotten off a long flight from NY and being extremely tired, this was quite helpful. The room was clean and had a great view. It's a short walk up a moderate hill from the central train station, but if you have lots of luggage or are very out of shape, this won't seem like a short walk. If you don't mind walking, it's a great location - very quiet. The immediate neighborhood doesn't have much action - there's a restaurant/pub attached and the food was good and the prices were reasonable. For a livelier scene, you have to walk downtown (about 5-10') or to the Fortitude Valley (about 20') where there is a Chinatown and an adjacent area with many pubs and restaurants, some with live music on weekends. Overall, I was very happy with the Metro Hotel Tower. It's odd circular shape added to the uniqueness. Rooms have balconies, which is an enjoyable place to have morning coffee or an afternoon beer. The room rate was quite reasonable.

“No facilities but a decent base”

I stayed here during a 4-day business trip. For that purpose, it's fine: the location is ok and the room is comfortable and adequate. Wifi internet is reliable; it costs extra, the charge is average for international hotels. Everything is clean and works fine, although it shows its age a bit. The only significant downside is the complete lack of facilities: there's literally nothing, not even a lounge, apart from the restaurant. But one nice little touch is that they give you a carton of fresh milk when you arrive.
