Mazarin was ideal for what we wanted. Close to Notre Dame and river and in a lively area for restaurants, cafes etc.
There were no real facilities beyond the room and reception staff but as a couple we didn't really need anything else as we were spending most of our days and evenings out and about.
Everything was comfortable and well looked after in the hotel and staff were attentive.

I loved staying at Le Placide. It was very well-located and convenient to many locations. The staff and service was excellent. My room, which was upgraded to a junior suite (thank you, again!), was very spacious. More than enough for one person. I was very happy with this hotel and would stay there again. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for accommodations in the 6th arrondissement.

I had asked for a quiet room but when I arrived I learned that my assigned room would be facing the street. Now the street is quiet, so for most people that would be OK, but I am very sensitive to noise. I spoke with the manager and she was willing to help to get me a room facing the back.
I could get a smaller room facing the back and she would add free breakfast for the 2 of us. When I came back later in the afternoon she told us we were upgraded with a terrace room facing the back.
I understand the hotel is a small boutique hotel with only 30 rooms and it is not easy to accommodate special requests. However I found the service at this small hotel extraordinary, they will get out of their way to help. That is what makes a real 4- star hotel.

Huge room with high ceilings and French doors. Balconies, even in the bathroom, looking out at the Tuileries and Musee d'Orsay. The beds were firm with comforters and lavendar-scented pillows. There were complimentary water bottles, coffee, tea and chocolates each day delivered by very friendly staff.
