"We have stayed at the Adelphi on numerous occasions but this might be the last. The shabby splendour has reached a new bottom. The bar had an unpleasant smell as did the communal areas. You could not use the front doors due to refurbishment. The Matress in our room was terrible and really hard...we did not sleep well. We overheard another couple saying they had been woken up by someone kicking a door in further down the corridor on the same floor as ours. Unsavoury characters also hanging around...

"The bed was very uncomfortable!!! It dipped in the middle so it was quite difficult to lie flat. The balcony only had one seat on it but, as we couldn’t get the door open anyway, that wasn’t a problem. I didn’t take a shower cap with me as I expected the hotel to provide a selection of toiletries. It didn’t. The shower head was a bit loose and out of my reach and, at one point, it was actually pointing at the wall with most of the water running down the wall. We definitely would not return and...

"The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean. Breakfast was exceptional! The garden beautifully maintained. Would definitely recommend. Location close to the motorway but felt we were miles away."
