Had a wonderful stay. Would stay here again and would recommend to anyone.
Loved this hotel. Great facilities and ambience. A haven in a not so great area of San Francisco. We had an unfortunate experience walking out of the hotel when we were approached by a threatening character. Not great for my 14 year old son who then felt frightened of leaving the hotel. A shame because this hotel is wonderful and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in the city. Lovely pool. Lovely muffins and coffee for breakfast and staff really friendly and helpful.
We got more than we paid for. It's not a high end hotel in the perfect location but for us it was what we signed up for. The king size bed and pillows were super comfortable! Mel's Diner next door was a wonderful option for breakfasts. Easy to walk to desired destinations or catch public transportation anywhere if that's your choice. The decor isn't great but it felt warm and the staff were easy going.
This is a favorite hotel given its location, convenience, cleanliness and friendly staff. The rooms are small but that is to be expected in central SF. Everything met my expectations at a reasonable price.
The hotel itself is situated 1 minutes walk to Market Street where most of the shopping is located the convenience itself is a plus. The staff is really fantastic they give guest the feel of home especially for a first time guest of the city their service in my opinion surpass the 5 stars hotel.
As to safety the area in general there are a lot of homeless people asking for money and cigarette you just have to be polite and reject them no need to be mean or aggressive towards them mind you there is also 5 star hotel in the same area but the hotel staff really do their part by not letting non guest to enter the hotel which includes the use of their toilets. I would strongly advice family visitors do not let their children roam about in the nights.
If you need a cab let the front desk know so that they get their regular/trusted cab drivers to service you but as most of the things are nearby the only time you may need the cab is to the airport.
Small rooms with a king-size bed and a desk, just enough to spend the night. Bathrooms are extremely small, 2x7' including shower, smaller than room closets -- they work fine but not for everyone. Breakfast -- fruit and breadstuffs -- is served on each floor.
