"First two days in San Fran"
I stayed in this hotel the first two days of my travelling through America, and I was super happy with it. The bed was comfy, the fan kept the room nice and cool and the free muffins in the morning were delicious. I was worried about sharing a toilet and shower, but it turn out to be fine. They were both kept very clean!!

"It felt like home."
The area was pretty ghetto but on the flip side it made the hotel feel life our litte safe haven. The staff is nice and the room was okay. The shower was dandy. Don't rely on the breakfast. It's just pastries in plastic wrappers and coffee. If you are a fancy pantsy don't go there. But if you're chill like us and don't need a lot to enjoy yourself well you're good.

"Centrally located in nice old fashioned building"
We stayed for 3 nights in 801 at the top of the hotel. It's right next to Union Square & on the cable car route. Very good staff & our room was good. I think if you stayed on the lower floors it might be a bit noisy but it is the centre of the city! Overall very good.

"Nice hotel near some San Francisco attractions"
This hotel wasn't the best hotel but it had what I needed for my stay. Some fast food restaurants nearby, it's located at the front of one of the principal streets; there is a convenience store at the corner. The only thing I was a little worry about was the parking. They have only 10 or 12 parking spaces for all the rooms. So, if you don't get one, you have to parking on the street, where you have to pay for the parking. But in my case I was lucky to find a place inside the hotel.

"Great Value, Charming Hotel"
Nice hotel, in a great area of San Francisco. If you are a flexible traveler looking for a bargain, this is a great option. If you are a high-maintenance fussy traveler, you should probably spend more money on a different hotel. I stayed in a room without a bathroom (shared bathrooms were in the hallway just outside the room), and I find that to be a good option if you are looking to save money. The hotel provided bathrobes and slippers, and there was also a fancy customizable hot drinks machine in the lobby. The owner was frequently at the front desk, and she was very helpful and friendly. I wish the hotel had an elevator, but that's my only minor compliant. I would stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

"Older yet cleaner motel."
I had a pleasant stay, just one day. I like that there is a parking lot right next to your hotel for convience and it was only $20.00 a day to park versus $36.00 to park a few hours near fisherman's wharf. My room was clean, newer furninsings, bed bug free ( a must in SF) towels were clean, I had my own bathroom. Huge closet. Bring your own hangers though. I had a in-room Microwave, refridgerator, coffeemaker, blowdryer. Did not hear noise from other guests, Staff is at the desk 24-7. Free Wifi. Quiet, unless you open the windows then you hear the sound of the city, but I heard no screaming or yelling, instead heard people outside singing or playing instruments at random times throughout the day. The TV had Dish Network, but I did not bother watching it since I was there, I was in SF for a concert, trip to Alcatraz and a bus tour of the city. There was coffee and donughts available in the morning, but I did not bother eating anything because I do not eat in the morning unless I feel hungry.

"Good ONLY for their price"
If you want to pay only $90/night like I did then you have to accept the condition of the hotel. Rooms are small, washrooms are very small and don't have a sink. 3 washrooms are shared by many rooms (they have private washrooms for higher prices). The shower is also very small. For the breakfast expect only a coffee and a donut. The bed is old, shaking and noising. For the WIFI you have to go to the lobbies because the signal doesn't reach upstairs. If you're looking only for a place to sleep to during your stay or looking to discover San Francisco with lower budgets, then you may find this place ok for you. Check the hotel prices!!! The location is central few steps from the BART station, the Muni light train and few blocks from the Powell St. line of the cable car. There are LOTS of homeless in the area but they seem friendly.
